He didn't notice that the lights had changed.
So, we all proudly went to mass this morning, looking every bit the rockstars that we are. I kept the children busy with magic rocks and books, and we gave Grandma not a single reason not to be proud of us. I haven't heard from our Oshawa contingent yet, but the boy assured me last night that he was going to meet with his maker today. I'm so proud of him.
Which is the topic of today's post. My son. The boy. The Man. hehe.... damned straight he's my Man.
This little journey of his started well before he made his debut on April 8th, 1992. At 2:32 I believe. Weighing in at 8 lbs. 7 oz., Justin Patrick Francis LeClair, my boy, turns 15 today. He was our first child, our first boy, our first grandchild, and many many other first thingys...
And I'm so proud of him.... Happy Birthday Son, this one's for you..
What's a birthday without some measure of embarrasment and certainly I'm not known to spare Justin any humiliation. When watching Lucas dance yesterday across J's floor, I warned him to be careful, that when Justin had behaved that way at his age, he was promptly enrolled in tap classes. He was the only boy in the class.... and the final show had him wearing satin and sequins. Elmo you can drive my car indeed... The photographic evidence of this period of Justin's life has always hung proudly in our home. *giggles*
Justin is a very honest man. Such read the plaque that hung in his room. He's a man of his word, can be counted on in a fight, his loyalty is unfailing.
I remember his first girlfriend Amy quite fondly. I found her to be alot like me. All braces and boobs, but cute as hell, and tremendously enamoured with my son. I still wear the cross she gave him for his birthday when they were together on a charm bracelet around my wrist. In case he ever wants it back. She also gave him a T-shirt that read "define girlfriend".
I remember his second girlfriend, Nadine, quite fondly. She's still babysitting my Living Dead dolls. She and Justin used to walk to school together every day and talk... she'd wait on the sidewalk for him next to the tree. She really pushed the definition of girlfriend to new limits for Justin.
And I think that's enough pain and humiliation for the boy today. Onto mine... what kind of an Anterockstar mother would I be, if I didn't sing a song for my boyo on his birthday.
