Well, I don't know where to start.  Yesterday's festivities at Lakeview were the best I've ever been to.  And I don't think I was the only person who left with that impression.

I'll spare you some of the narrative (lord knows some people never know when to shut up) but we've got a video (or two *giggles*) to share that will pretty much sum up the feelings from the event.

Electrifying...  Is one word, and coincidentally, the thing was sponsored by none other than our friendly neighborhood power provider, and our provincial ministry in charge.  Fitting.

And to give you an idea of just how Electrifying, I give you his worship our Mayor, John Gray, introducing Suzie McNeil, our headliner at Lakeview yesterday.  Now there's a man who knows when to shut up.  While he's an attractive man, he's nowhere near as cute as Suzie, and well, you'll be able to tell by the end of the video.

I'd never heard of Suzie McNeil before I found out about her appearance when I started doing research for the show.  Like... three days ago.... and I never watched the Rockstar INXS thing either.  Thank God for youtube.  I watched enough of her to get her new release "hung up" stuck in my head pretty good tho.  Also had a chance to watch her do "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Losing my Religion" on youtube before the show yesterday too (all of which she played last night).

The videos weren't bad, but nothing I'd get overly excited about…

Changed my mind yesterday.  Wow, what a performance.  She's energetic, enthusiastic, engaged…  and has a smile that compels you to smile back…. Although there's nothing cutesie about Suzie…

There seems to be a new emotion emanating from this woman since her performance on Rockstar, and frankly, I think she's enjoying it a hell of a lot more now.  Having not watched the show I couldn't tell you why/when all this transpired, but there's a determination in this woman's performance now that wasn't there before… which is probably why she lost the competition in the first place. (On a side note, I find women in general have a lack of determination which serves against them in competitions of this sort with men…. We're trained to please, whereas they're trained to win).

She obviously meshes very well with her band, as illustrated by the antics displayed between her and her guitarist onstage  Although they maintain a respectful distance, they're obviously hot for each other, and this just makes them that much hotter on stage.  These guys obviously know how to support her, and are happy to do so.

She's broken and she's beautiful (yours truly can relate), and apparently, she's damned proud of it.  You can tell she has a really good time performing, and she's totally relaxed (despite the repetitive wardrobe malfunction going on…lol…. if she had boobs, she'd have something to hold up her top…).  She's currently starring as Oz in the Toronto production of We Will Rock you, and her new CD "Broken and Beautiful" is available now in stores.  From what I heard last night, it's worth listening to.

The Finale of Bohemian Rhapsody got the entire park going, including me, and I blew out my voice.  Lucas was on my shoulders the entire time, the best seat in the house.  As we walked away after it was over, he said to me that that was the best song ever.  And then he said he wished he was a star….

*giggles*  So does Mommy Sweetheart….

The pinnacle of the show for me was rushing the babies out of the bathroom to catch the finale, and hearing Suzie yell out at the top of her lungs "OSHAWA ROCKS!!".

Indeed, it does, we proved it last night, and it will again as soon as I book another date for the GM centre…oh… and a headliner.
