It's interesting now having been through a cancer death myself how I see the deaths of others. Although I've never witnessed it... when the article describes how his last hours were "difficult" I no longer need to rely on my imagination to conjure images I'd rather forget. Difficult seems a very polite way to put it.
Life is difficult, and I can't imagine a life more difficult than the one this man lived. Although neither can I imagine one so well spent. Short as it was... it was lived pursuing the light that was taken from him when he was a kid.
I won't go into what a wonderful musician he was, I don't think anyone needs any convincing of that. He is however, one of the icons of Canadian music today who is truly out there, living the life of a rockstar... fighting all the way.
