Monday is here again, checked the schedule, it’s still packed.
Still digesting the weekend, I dunno if I’ll ever get over it, but I
know for sure its come and gone. So much to look forward to for a
change, I hardly have time to concoct nasty scenarios in my mind where
all hell breaks loose. It kinda already has. Boy, I’m glad I made it.
A few things are becoming obvious to me. I’ve stopped planning on
settling, and am getting better at striking a match (or rather, a
stable one).
I feel alot like I’m on fire, and to be frank, I haven’t felt this way
since I first discovered The Cure in 1987. I have one person to thank
for this.
John Tard.
I am a very fortunate woman. I know John Tard. Not like, I’ve seen
him, had a drink with him, took him home type of know him….
hahaha…
Like, where he is right now, what he’s doing, who he’s doing it with.
That sounds rather stalker, and really it is. The thing that makes me
great at what I do is I am the ultimate groopie. An extremely useful
tool, if you can learn to use me properly. Without dulling me, or
breaking me…
When a groopie commits herself to a cause… a leader (there is no
cause without one)… she commits much more than is visible to the
eye. Invisible… yet powerful enough to move mountains.
Delicate like a flower.
Groopies have precious hearts that donate, completely, everything they
are to the pursuit of other people’s success. Good ones go about
making themselves everything they emulate to bolster their appeal.
I don’t know how much I’ve contributed to Robert’s success, but I do
know that he is the father of mine.
I had no idea how good I was till I met the 3Tards. I have a whole new
understanding of the word “love” because John Tard knows himself well
enough to know me better than I know myself… and thankful that he
loves me enough to share everything he knows with me… one track at a
time.
The CD is out, and now the race is one… how many copies are we gonna
sell? I dunno, but I know that everyone at Kathedral left with one in
hand, and I know I’m getting pestered by everyone who listens to it
for a copy. I keep hearing Kenny Bania saying “gold Gerry, Gold!” in
my head.
I thought I couldn’t remain objective and review any more of it
(without sounding corny) but goddammit, that’s my job.
This morning’s pick is “Better me than you”, and it will be for life.
That song is the kind that will dig you out of the deepest depths of
hate and blind you with the light. When we were leaving the park after
they shut it down, I kept repeating that phrase in my head, and it
made me feel so much better (I hate feeling hate, it clouds
everything).
Why better me than you?
Cause I’d rather die at your hand, than strike you down in anger.
And what do we have to look forward to this week? Another packed
weekend! Friday night is Majewski’s memorial at Groove, should be an
epic night, and we will be there with two cameras. Saturday night we
are hosting Biblical Proportions at Diezel, and there should be more
bodies there than last time, so this should be interesting…
I need some rest. I got caught up on sleep yesterday and today, and am
refilling the tanks with fuel. I have a meeting with a new partner on
Tuesday, Wednesday is free Swim, Thursday is take II of little
monsters in the park, Kevin starts editing Little Monsters,
Anterockstar, and Shwatarded today…
And tonight… we feast. I’m celebrating my success with a wonderful
night in of chicken and taboule, wine, cards, and company….
I love knowing what the future holds :)
