“Hey, we didn’t really get a chance to chat too much, but I just
wanted to say CONGRATS! on pulling the whole thing off. Even though
the cops busted everything at the end, I’m happy you made it work. I
only stopped by for a short bit in the park, there was a lot of
running around when I got into town, but it all kicked ass! Keep up
the fight and don’t let up.
Michal”
As if I didn’t cherish them before. Now they are in my blog.
I can’t begin to express how fortunate I feel that our paths crossed.
Goodbye Friend. Happy trails.

Edit:
I really didn’t feel like going tonight. I realized finally that as a
filmmaker, you’re forever on the outside. You’re the omnescient
observer, never a participant…. no matter how much you try and write
yourself into the story.
Sometimes, the story writes its way into you.
I got to see one of the most beautiful skies I have EVER seen. Mike’s
artwork was marked by the pronounced use of color. His colors were
flying tonight, the sky was on fire.
And so were so many hearts.
I didn’t know Mike well, but I did serve him a most important purpose
one evening last summer.
He made me his canvass.
There’s a very small list of people who claim that privilege.
Only 3.
That’s how special was he.
I’m just so sorry he’s gone…. and that the mark was only temporary.
