I’m told this translates to “mind your manners” although I heard that from a machine. Can never tell with machines, they take you quite literally.
I’ve been busy with my own Shwatarded manners, and this week had the opportunity to poke my head up and see what else has gone on since I looked.
Holy cow… it’s gotten worse.
I daresay, daresay, suggest, that certain people in this community need SEVERE lessons in manners. Their protocol is sweet, and flows like molasses in January, but for the love of god man, women… children… people are dying daily!
Not that one can step in and prevent this outcome… stop death. I always found it funny that life insurance exists. I’ve never had a policy presented to me that was betting on my living forever. I wonder what the cost to that would be?
One never knows the cost up front, well, we do. Your life will cost you your life. That’s it. Nothing more.. nothing less.
I see people betting their lives on putting off their dance with the devil… and I bring the pale moonlight.
I bought a red coat yesterday.
“I had rather have a plain, russet-coated captain that knows what he fights for, and loves what he knows, than that which you call a gentleman and is nothing else” – Cromwell
I watch our Mayor don his collar for meetings (his elaborate “chain of office”, watch him sit proudly under the portrait of our sovereign figurehead on earth, being addressed as his “Worship”. I hear him recite prayers recited for centuries, since the father of hope walked the earth, and I think to myself….
You sir… are an ass. And even worse, you proclaim yourself something different.
I know this is only my humble opinion, but I also know that I’m not the only one who thinks so. I know that I’m in good company too. And I know that I’m far brighter than you will ever hope to be.
Sounds threatening, but really, it’s trying to get someone to face the truth who just refuses to. We all know how hard this can be, and on a personal level, for I am not without compassion, or empathy, I can’t imagine how stressful it is to live under such scrutiny, with ones future in the balance…
Oh wait, yes I can…. and you took the opportunity to make an ass out of me.
The Laws of Nature dictate that I reciprocate.
Whatever comes next, as I said in Shwatarded, “Payback is getting what you deserve”. If I have to admit to myself that somehow I deserved getting shut down on that fateful day (which turned into days, weeks, and now months), and the treatment I got… that I somehow asked for it…
Well, then so should our City Council.
