“Lo, like a Cheshire cat fart our court will grin.”

From an 18th century literary work first referencing the Cheshire Cat.

A couple of other interesting musings from yesterday…

I am greeted at times with fear. I never recognized it in others till
I let go of my own. What power to be able to see men’s fear… the key
to alleviating it.

I spend a great deal of time cultivating an image of myself, one that
I am proud of. Being a social animal, I spend a great deal of time
market testing this image… (it’s not enough just to look in the
mirror… you have to listen to see what it’s really telling you).

I was surprised to find yesterday that I appear to be judgmental. This
pains me, for I do not consider myself judgmental (even more
disturbing when this perception comes from someone you are trying to
cultivate a relationship with).

NOW I understand :)

Long live learning…. about ones self, and others. Learning… is
never a waste of time.

I share here some thoughts I’ve held close for some time… while
trying desperately to push them forward… how silly.

The truth is… we are all stuck in an old system that doesn’t work
anymore. The truth is… we are ALL responsible for broadening our
perceptions (and breadth of our actions) to include that which we do
not hold in common… to make way for the uncommon.

A miracle.

I am one of your guerrillas, only I do it openly :) (the guerillas
don’t like me much either).

Guerrilas do PR war every day in backrooms, but no one sees that as
anything new. These politics no one ever gets to hear about unless
someone breaks ranks. A journalist will never reveal their source
lest they never get another tip again. Secrecy binds us everywhere.

Facebook is a mire to navigate, particularly for individuals who a)
don’t have the time, or intellectual resources to master it, or b) do
not wish to engender the kinds of debacle that are ongoing.

Facebook had a great idea technologically… Sociologically, it didn’t
anticipate the ghost in the machine… humans (and their nature). I
have spent a great deal of time interacting online, since it’s
inception. The last three years of my life have been devoted pretty
exclusively to studying and analyzing the internet and it’s real life
impact on humans (particularly myself and my family).

I have found that the misguided’s can be re-appropriated. If they are
properly handled.

The internet is largely unregulated because we have seen it and
treated it as an extension of our current media landscape, as opposed
to a reinvention of it. This allows the miscreants who do have the
time (and the intellectual capacity) to not only fully appreciate this
medium, but to better apply it to their purposes… despite the lack
of financial resources; than big brother.

Getting big brother to see this has been the challenge of my life.

The legislative system along with the economic system, is too slow to
deal with the speed that the internet brings to social evolution.
PEOPLE are learning faster than the machine, and PEOPLE are learning
how to manipulate the machine to their advantage. Case in point our
letter writing campaign to the city opening the door to a
cross-promotional opportunity. Like it or not, in addition to our
rental agreement creating a bond between us, their posting a link on
their site endorsing us puts us into bed even further. We were able to
accomplish this by using their own tactics against them (something
they didn’t anticipate, and were obviously incapable of handling,
since their knee jerk response was to shut the door). The hole still
isn’t plugged, neither will it be, because I’ve now learned that I
know something that they don’t. If they were bright, they’d hire me as
a consultant.

There is an opportunity here to re-appropriate minds. Literally.
Oshawa has a large segment of individuals whose passion has become to
undermine the establishment.

They know somethings wrong, and even though they have no clue where to
begin fixing it, they do know that talking about it is a first step.
The rhetoric is simply a venting of frustration, hurt, and anger.
Being bigger than others calls us to put aside our own judgments as to
people’s right to their emotions, and the value of their perspective,
and simply look upon them as our fellow human beings, equals.

Like before, a handshake, and a look in the eye is the greatest
influence a person can have. In today’s era, a touch is no longer
necessary… the internet allows us look each other in the eye without
boundaries
(geographical and social).

I am acutely aware of the very real problems taking place in my
household, not to mention pretty much all of those around me given my
geography, and the will it takes to force myself into someone elses
shoes, and walk in them, in order to engender the progress I know is
possible.

Walking together in the same direction, instead of fighting over a
small piece of the pie.
