I’m starting a project called Politicus. Politicus is an ensemble project, with as many musicians as can fill a sidewalk comfortably. So, whatever youplay, as long as you can play it unplugged, bring it on down.

This is what we stand for.
Basically we’re looking at an open air Jam on the sidewalk outside the various Candidate’s Offices on Sundays (timing would depend on what everybody thinks is cool, but I would imagine 11ish? 12 ish? I dunno… How early would you get up on a Sunday to change the world?).
I propose the following schedule:
Sunday September 14th – Colin Carrie’s Office
Sunday September 21st – Liberal Candidate
Sunday September 28th – NDP Candidate
Sunday October 6th – TBD
Sunday October 13th – TBD
Of course we’ll be filming, and putting it all up on www.anterockstar.com and youtube. This is gonna be a massive opportunity not only to effect change in our community, but for exposure. The media is watching the net very closely to see how it affects voters. They saw what happened in the states… this is our chance to do it here.
Soundwise I imagine we’ll come up with something pretty nifty… I know there’s alot of talent in this community, more than the law would allow… and I know alot of you boys have played extensively together already, so it ain’t a matter of gellin. We could play improv stuff, your own stuff, good old protest ditty’s (sunday bloody sunday was such a good song wannit?), whatever…
So, for those of you who are down, I look forward to seein y’all this Sunday… I’ll be there with my family, my voice, my rainstick, and maybe a bongo or two…
And why will I be there?
Because I don’t agree with the direction the Conservative government is taking on many issues including funding to the arts, poverty, education, the internet, copyright law, our presence in Afghanistan, foreign relations with the US, funding formulae to the provinces, the environment, marijuana legislation, crime, and punishment.
And even if I don’t get my guy in the door, at least I will have done a good job of sending my own message, and making my voice heard for myself, and my children.
I at least have to try, and this is my best shot.
Anyone wanna come take it with me?
I’m sure there are lots of you out there who have a beef or two to take up with the man… what a better way to say it… than to play it?
And for those of you who don’t play or sing, come on out and watch, I’ll guarantee you’ll get an awesome show… and just for the effort of coming out.
