TaMarA iS a pUnk

Ya, right.

Halloween has come and gone… it’s normally my high holy holiday, the day of the year where I rule (Totally) and can really feel my power. This year she came without much pomp, but a whole lot of circumstance. The last month has been quite the letdown, although truth be told, we’ve been huddling.

I’m coming to the close of the years where I have to worry about outfitting more than myself. It used to be that I would full on sew from scratch costumes for all of us… Inspired by a neighbors mom who was always dressed in an original, and not the store bought plastic bag type costumes that you could throw over your winter jacket… I bought Emma 2 different dresses to wear this year, and she still wore the one that was already in the closet.

We ALMOST stayed home. It took all my enthusiasm to take the kids out trick or treating, and then when we couldn’t figure out what to wear (had some neat ones planned, like plays on words. I could have gone out in a body stocking covered in leaves and I’d have been FallT… then there was the sickly eve… EveIll…. get it?). I ended up donning the pink tutu fairy thing… that I couldn’t find wings for.

Grrr.

All ended quite interestingly enough at the Diezel, where we settled in to take in what the night had to offer, and much to our surprise… HAD A GOOD TIME!

Much fun was had, drinks aside, we made new friends, caught up with old ones… including our favorite Oshawa cop from Memorial Park! What an ass… standing there up against his car talking his buddy up about me… “Hey man, she’s the chick who made me a movie star!”. You ain’t much without yer hat on are ya… dood.?” It felt really good to be belligerent.

This would have been the first time I’ve been out to a public event of any size since the 3Tards shows his summer. Despite being a very exciting and thrilling experience, it was also very humbling. The situations those events created for me were far more intense than one would imagine… physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. NO ONE sees me the same way anymore.

But they see me.

And thank god, now so do I.

And on a side note… I’ll refrain from tearing her a new one, but Jessica “just a little dab” Simpson has been caught revealing her idea of the perfect man. Which of course, the press re-quotes as “Jessica Reveals the perfect man”…. like she’s an authority on the subject.

The perfect man in my mind does not exist yet. I’ll only recognize him when I am perfect myself… for I am made in his image.
